Chasten Gold's Job & Career Assistance Center is designed to help students, recent graduates, career changers, veterans, public servants, and job seekers develop the skills needed to compete in today's workforce. Whether you're searching for your first job, preparing for a promotion, transitioning into a new career, or pursuing a position with the State of California, our growing collection of educational videos, downloadable templates, career guides, and mock interview resources will help you take the next step with confidence. Our goal is simple, to remove barriers to employment by providing free, practical, and accessible career resources that prepare individuals for long-term success.
Employment Development Department (EDD)
The California Employment Development Department (EDD) connects job seekers with employment opportunities, unemployment benefits, labor market information, career exploration tools, and workforce training resources. Through CalJOBS and America's Job Centers of California, EDD helps individuals develop resumes, prepare for interviews, explore career pathways, and connect with employers throughout the state. Their services are available at no cost to California residents.
America's Job Center of California (AJCC)
America's Job Centers of California provide free career counseling, resume assistance, interview coaching, job placement services, career assessments, workforce training, and employment workshops. Centers also assist veterans, youth, individuals with disabilities, career changers, and dislocated workers. Many locations offer access to computers, printers, and hiring events throughout California.
CalCareers (State of California Careers)
CalCareers is the official employment website for the State of California, offering thousands of career opportunities across more than 150 state departments. Job seekers can search for openings, complete examinations, create application profiles, and learn about state hiring processes, benefits, and career advancement. The website also provides tutorials and resources to help applicants navigate California's civil service system.

Sacramento Works is the Sacramento region's workforce development system dedicated to helping residents prepare for meaningful employment.
